If for some reason there is a problem with the firmware update, some newer firmwares now have an alternative way to update the firmware. With this alternative method a downgrade to older versions is possible too. We recommend downloading a backup of the configuration before attempting to flash the firmware.

The tool is contained in the 20.05, 20.06, 21.02 and 23.01 firmware branches, introduced with following versions:

  • 20.05.05-rc12

  • 20.06.01-rc01

  • 21.02.03-rc23

  • 23.01.01-rc44

To use this firmware flash tool, you need a firmware version equal or higher than the ones listed above.

For accessing the flash-tool you have to reboot in update mode.

Change the URL in the address bar to contain flash-tool.php instead of update-tool.php

If the device has connection to the internet a list of available firmware image packages should be listed

By clicking on the according button and confirming the popup message, the flashing of the firmware will be started.

If there is no connection to the internet, you can upload the flash package from your local computer via the Browse and Upload button.

For this scenario the available image files can be downloaded from:

While the flash process is running do not try to power off or otherwise meddle with your device. The whole process probably will take around five minutes.

After the flashing is finished, the device will reboot and needs approximately two minutes to finalize the update.
