SBC Session types

The beroNet Gateways and SBCs support SIP to SIP Calls which involve two Parties A and B. Such a Call is called “Session”. There are 2 types of Sessions:

  1. BNSBC-SESSION-X
    where X stands for the amount of sessions in which the media traverses the hardware DSP

  2. BNSBC-SESSION-TP-Y
    where Y stands for the amount of Sessions where the media is forwarded transparently
    NOTE: available starting with beroNet OS 21.00

The beroNet Devices have different amount of DSP resources depending on their type, but they all allow 128 transparent sessions, please see the following table:

The license cost for transparent media sessions is considerably lower compared to the license cost of the sessions with media transcoding capabilities. The beroNet OS allows mixing of both Session Types, depending on the customer requirements.
