Important Configuration

General Information about beroNetOS

GUI Mode

If you need to make advanced adjustments to the SBC, it makes sense to switch the GUI Mode to advanced, to ensure that all configuration options are presented.

Activate

Whenever you change the configuration of the device, the changes are not immediately applied.
They are saved in a temporary database and a yellow Activate button will appear.

When you click the Activate Button, the configuration files are written and your changes will take effect.

VPN Management

You can launch a VPN Server directly on the SBC. You can connect to this VPN to ensure encrypted communication between the SBC and your communications equipment.

You can find the configuration page under Preferences → VPN

Please provide a private IP-Adress Range with a proper netmask. The SBC will always take the first available IP-Address.

  • The IP Range in the example is 10.0.1.0/24 (10.0.1.1 - 10.0.1.254)

On the Client Configuration Tab, you can download the VPN client.conf file that contains all the necessary information to connect to this VPN Server. Do not share this file, or someone else!

You also have the possibility to kill the VPN connection of a client if connected.

DoS Management

Since the server resides in the realm of the public internet, you will most likely be constantly attacked by malicious crawlers that will send SIP-requests to your public IP address.

This usually is not a problem, since the requests are automatically ignored by the system and not handled further. Therefore there won’t be much load.
In case of a real attack, our default DoS Protection rules will block the attack relatively quickly. You can specify, lighten or tighten these rules per network-stack to your liking.

Keep in mind that created SIP Peers are automatically added to the whitelist and there is no need to add them manually here.
