To restore a beroNet Appliance (BNTA20/BNTA21/BNTA22) to its factory settings, you need to first create a USB recovery stick. To do this on a Windows computer you will need:
- Tuxboot
- Appliance Recovery
Creating a Recovery Stick:
- Download tuxboot and the newest BNTA-*.zip file (Tux-Boot & Stick Package)
- Start the tuxboot.exe
- Choose the USB Stick to flash (size must be at least 8 GB, USB 2.0, some USB 3.0 drives may cause problems during boot)
- Choose preloaded ISO and choose the downloaded BNTA-*.zip file
- Wait till the files where written, then you're ready
Steps for Recovery:
- Plugin the Recovery USB Stick
- Hold F11 during boot to reach the Boot-Options menu
- Choose your Recovery USB Stick, for example "Generic USB Flash Disk" (do not choose UEFI)
- Choose "beroNet Appliance Installer (web)
- Let the Appliance boot from the Recovery Stick. After a few minutes it will receive a DHCP IP Address which will be displayed on the screen.
- Use a different computer to access the IP
- In the recovery GUI, fetch the Image-List and download the latest HV Image
- After the download, install the HV image. WARNING: THE RECOVERY WILL ERASE ALL OF YOUR DATA FROM THE SSD DRIVE
The Appliance will automatically shutdown after installation - Unplug the Recovery Stick and boot the appliance
