If for some reason there is a problem with the firmware update, some newer firmwares now have an alternative way to update the firmware. Additionally there is a package available, which injects the flash-tool2 into the existing firmware (flash-tool2).
With this alternative method a downgrade to older versions is possible too. We recommend downloading a backup of the configuration before attempting to flash the firmware.
The tool is contained in the 20.05, 20.06, 21.02 and 23.01 firmware branches, introduced with following versions:
To use this firmware flashing tool, you need a firmware version equal or higher than the ones listed above.
Newer versions:
For accessing the flash-tool (or flash-tool2) you have to reboot in update mode.
Change the URL in the address bar to contain flash-tool.php (or flash-tool2.php) instead of update-tool.php
If the device has connection to the internet a list of available firmware image packages should be listed
By clicking on the according button and confirming the popup message, the flashing of the firmware will be started.
If there is no connection to the internet, you can upload the flash package from your local computer via the Browse and Upload button.

While the flash process is running do not try to power off or otherwise meddle with your device. The whole process probably will take around five minutes.
After the flashing is finished, the device will reboot and needs approximately two minutes to finalize the update.
