How do I connect a beroNet gateway to a Starface telephone system on the beroNet Appliance?

Generic Information

The HowTo shows how to connect a Starface telephonesystem to an ISDN provider and a PBAX using the beroNet Gateway and to integrate analogue and ISDN extensions in the Starface phone system.

Firmware Starface: 6.4.3.34

Firmware Appliance: 2.01

Firmware Gateway: appfs-16.09.tar.gz

Firmware snom360:  8.7.3.25

There is a known issue with the registration state in Starface GUI. Gateway shows it's registered and Starface toggles between registered and unregistered (red and green).

This is a pure problem with the Starface GUI and has no influence to the function, you can ignore the state in the Starface GUI.

For install a PBX on the beroNet Appliance 2.0/2.1 see here.

After installing the Starface phone system, you should see the window below. Open the web-interface via the IP-Address.

Create the appropriate extensions in the Starface PBX.

To set the corresponding numbers, you must also create the users.

Easy Configuration with the Wizard

After finishing the extensions please open the webinterface of the beroNet Gateway -> Management -> Reboot / Reset and start the Easy Configuration Wizard.

Select "VoIP PBX Gateway"

Now you can configure your gateway.

Server Address: IP-address of the Starface server
Port: SIP port (usually 5060)

The ISDN EXTERNAL BRI ports will connect you with the ISDN provider. Select the ports that will later connect to the ISDN trunk.
With the ISDN internal settings, you can integrate ISDN terminals into your Starface PBX. This also applies to analogue terminals (FXS internal).

After restarting the gateway you should see the following under Webinterface/Management/State.

In this example, the gateway connects the Starface with an external BRI line, a ISDN PBAX system and integrates an ISDN phone and two analogue phones.

Please note that the extensions in the Starface must be configured accordingly!

Manual configuration

For manual configuration of the external BRI line the settings are (webinterface/PSTN/BRI):

webinterface/SIP/SIP-ISDN-Extern-BRI

For manual configuration of the FXS extensions the settings are (webinterface/PSTN/FXS):

The corresponding SIP settings are:

To route the calls you have to create some dialplan entries. For every direction you need one dialplan. Here it is

ISDN  → SIP  /  SIP → ISDN  /  Analog → SIP  /  SIP → Analog

For this scenario an internal phone registered on the PBX was set with:
